Trashy Heroes

I was walking with a guy I dated briefly and we were heading towards an amusement park. We were heading there to fill out applications to become "Death Knights." (I thought about this term when I woke up, it is nothing similar to the Warcraft version of a Death Knight.) It wasn't something we were doing for fun, it was almost a requirement, or a next level of school, or something you had to do to be respected in society.

We walked through the big iron fences surrounding the amusement park and through some big gates. For the most part the park was empty (maybe it was down season and only open to Death Knights and applicants) but there were people walking around. I look over in the distance where the Death Knight school is and I notice some of my friends who have already passed the test and challenges to become one.

One girl I see is named Liz and she is walking lifelessly straight forward with astute posture, her skin is dark grey, faded and ephemeral smoke haze hangs around her. She is slightly transparent with eyes glowing a soft, ghostly white. She is wearing a black blazer, the only thing that stands out as not being transparent. The contrast of the deep black to her skin is only met by the blood red tie she is wearing with it. The only thing coursing through my mind is that I cannot wait to join them as a Death Knight.

I already know the ins and outs of being a Death Knight, but in my head I never knew you had to fill out an application, I just thought it came to you when you were ready. I already knew that when you became a Death Knight, you would no longer go through life as yourself, instead you would create little dolls (similar to the characters in Little Big Planet) to act as yourself in whatever you needed. While your dolls were living life for you, your time was free to study higher classes of arcane magic.

I realized that I had just stopped in my tracks to admire my friends so I popped out of my daze and kept walking towards the application booth. My friend was now sitting on a fence taking a phone call, I went on without him.

As I enter the booth, there is one girl ahead of me and she is handing the receptionist all of her paperwork. I panic because I didn't know there was paperwork. I am frantically looking on the counter for the correct paperwork while the other girl is finishing. The receptionist turns to me and I ask her if the form I am holding is the proper paperwork. She sighs and hands me a stack and starts asking me questions. She asks me what the name and address of my general physician is and I can't remember. She said to take the paperwork and come back tomorrow.

I sulk out the exit door of the booth, steal a longing glance in the distance again and start to walk out of the park.

I remember being in a trashy super hero costume, with a trashy guy who is also in a trashy Superman costume and we are walking towards an elevator. There is a group of children in costumes following us to the elevator and we close the door before they can make it on. In the elevator we start making out and we ride the elevator up and down twice.

  1. I used to have dreams that I was walking through the staff gate at Kings Dominion. I was always being chased by like a dude in a cloak, and there were puddles everywhere (cause it rained all the time.. sometimes) and when I stepped in a puddle, I fell through and landed in the EXACT SAME WORLD BUT everything was inversed, cause it was like REFLECTION WORLD. I had that dream all the time, especially when I wasn't working at Kings Dominion.
